Thank you very much for your support of the Benefit Concert for
Watoto wa Lwanga. The event was a huge success. The children performed
very well and seemed to have a lot of fun as did all who attended.
The
silent auction which had over 65 items along with ticket sales brought
in Ksh 400,000! After expenses were paid, the event profited us
nearly Ksh 300,000.
Fees, uniform and stationery for
primary school students are Ksh 9,000 per year and Ksh 21,000 for
secondary students. Watoto wa Lwanga has over 850 students in our two
schools in Kibera and Kariobangi so the neediest of students can now
rest assured that they will be able to remain in school.
We
could not have done this without you. We deeply appreciate your support
and generosity as together we continue to educate and support the youth
in the slums of Nairobi.
With sincere appreciation,
Heidi Pidcoke
Treasurer of the Board

Watoto wa Lwanga is a non-profit children's organization created in 1991 by the Brothers of St. Charles Lwanga, a Catholic community initiated in Uganda, whose calling and charism is to offer support and education to children in marginalized communities.
Through establishing schools and rehabilitating street children, Watoto wa Lwanga has transformed the lives of thousands of children in Nairobi's many slums.
To enable children to realize their future in an empowered community.
Watoto wa Lwanga exists to rehabilitate and develop children in underprivileged circumstances, children from the streets or out of school due to socio-economic and psychological factors.
Watoto wa Lwanga offers primary education and drop-in centers in the sprawling slums of Kibera, Huruma, Eastleigh and Ruai. Various programmes are offered in each center including accelerated education, vocational training, rehabilitation and community interventions based on the Christian values of charity and love.
